Dear patrons,

You have no idea how much it means to me that you support my art each month! Thank you for believing in me. It’s been a wild ride since choosing to take a leap of faith and pursue my poetry and music full-time.

Behind the scenes, I’ve been going gangbusters – as my mom would say – building out several brands that enable me to share my art with the world. Amidst it all, I have found it difficult to be consistent in my weekly Patreon posts, and I am so grateful that you have been sticking with me through it all.

As an expression of my gratitude, I’m sharing a bonus poem and spoken word performance for October, “Take Flight.” Written form is below, and audio form is in the clickable track of this blog post.

Pitting me against myself
Crashing waves
It’s an old story
You using your might
In an attempt to drag me down
While I use my might
In an attempt to lift you up

There comes a point
Where I’m worn out from
And bored by
The struggle
And I let go
Of you the vision the glorious possibilities
And you fall into the inferno
Shouting regrets and apologies
All the way down

As I shut out the cries
Lift my sights
Up to the skies
And finally
Take Flight
