I used to be
The composer conductor
Teacher
For every musician
In the symphony
Ensuring each part
Was played properly
in concert with the others
In harmony

This drill sergeant
Saved me repeatedly
Held me to the highest standards
Consistently
Invoked a vision
Where they would all rise up with me
And so I arrived at
The launchpad
Of my Destiny

Where I can now
Lay down
This burden
That’s not mine
That’s so heavy
Flow with the tides
Face to the sky
Trusting releasing Breathing
Floating on my back
Following my Dreams
Wherever they may
Take me
