I don’t want to fight anymore
To have to change the course
Of my day my thoughts my life
Because of your hatred
And lack of responsibility
Preferring to destroy what someone else has built
Than to clean up your shit
And contribute something positive
To this world

But where does my refusal
To engage in negativity
Turn into complacency
In turn enabling you
Handing you the platform
For running everything
Ultimately taking away
My ability to do anything positive myself

I don’t know
And I wonder
Why people choose the path
Of destruction self destruction
And why it takes years
To build a house
That can go up in flames in minutes
What purpose does it serve

You say it’s a learning curve
But history repeats itself
So I don’t see us actually
Getting anywhere
Or changing anything
It’s just the same damn choices
Every generation
