Whether you’re a Jewish educator or lay person, you probably have never heard the Iraqi prayers for Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, never mind learned to sing them, never mind in the authentic Iraqi pronunciation! In this crash course, you’ll learn some of the lively classics – including Adon Haselihoth, El Nora Alila, and Ahoth Quetana – in the traditional Iraqi pronunciation. No prior experience, musical talent, or knowledge of Hebrew is required. We will sing songs with easy-to-learn choruses. In addition, English transliterations will be provided, and you will be expertly guided through a breakdown of pronunciations and melodies, before we sing the songs together.
