Hi everyone,
I’ve been doing some deep thinking about how I want KHAZZOOM to grow—and how to make this space more alive, cohesive, and meaningful for all of us. I’ve now reorganized the Patreon around two ways of engaging: KHAZZOOM Studio and KHAZZOOM Salon.
The Studio ($5+) is where I’ll be opening the archives and sharing work across disciplines, cultures, and forms of inquiry, alongside what I’m making, questioning, and discovering now. It’s a space for following unexpected connections across decades of work and exploring how they speak to the questions our world is grappling with today. It will include poems, songs, articles, book excerpts, and other offerings from past and present.
The Salon ($10+) adds virtual gatherings where we bring the work alive together. I’ll begin with an offering from the larger body of my work and facilitate from there. Where we go will depend on who gathers and what each person brings—their perspectives, experiences, questions, skills, and ways of seeing. The Salon will also draw from Iraqi Jewish prayers, songs, and traditions, for us to experience together and awaken in the present.
If you’re already a member, you don’t need to do anything. I’ve retired the old tiers for new members, but your existing membership will remain active at the amount you originally chose.
Going forward, Studio content will be available to members contributing $5 or more, and Salon gatherings and content will be available to members contributing $10 or more. So if you’re already contributing at one of those levels, you’ll simply begin receiving the corresponding new offerings.
If you currently contribute more than $10, you’re welcome to keep doing so as an additional way of supporting my work, and I deeply appreciate it. You’re also completely welcome to move to one of the new levels. And if you’re currently contributing less than $5, your membership can remain exactly where it is. If you’d like access to the Studio and the much fuller stream of work I’ll be sharing there, however, you can move up to $5 whenever you choose.
I’m excited about this new structure because it gets much closer to what I’ve wanted KHAZZOOM to be: not a collection of disconnected posts, but a living ecosystem where decades of work can come into conversation with the present—and where what I create can become a springboard for discovery in your own life and, in the Salon, in what we discover together.
Thank you for being here, and especially to those of you who have been supporting my work for years. I’m excited to see where we go now.
Warmly,
Loolwa
