Dear patrons, I got goosebumps listening to this .wav file my drummer just sent me (literally – I listened to it for the first time, 30 minutes ago) with a demo drum track for “The Convert’s Quest.” As my patrons, you have exclusive advanced review of this track! Mind you, this is a very rough recording. The way we build songs is that I record my vocals and bass with a click track, then my drummer adds his ideas, and we go back and forth, until we hit something we both love, then he goes back and builds on that, and sends the final demo. Then the guitarist and sax player add their ideas, and we all go back and forth with each other, offering each other our unique feedback and musical ideas, until we each give the song a thumbs-up. Then we do a professional recording of it – again, building layer by layer, but this time, recording multiple tracks for each instrument, and choosing the best-of.
As you may know, I started a crowdfunding campaign to raise the funds to professionally produce this song.
